CLEOPATRA’S NOSE REVISITED

Leaders:  John Miller, Greg West and David Penalver

If Cleopatra’s nose had been shorter, the whole face of the earth would have changed.             Blaise Pascal, Pensees

Cleopatra’s Nose is the course where we look at historical events and ask the question WHAT IF ..?

If circumstances had been different would subsequent events have followed a different course?

In terms three and four we plan to revisit some topics from Series One to Five. They are:

  • From New Amsterdam to New York
  • King John and Magna Carta
  • American Independence
  • The Battle of Long Tan
  • Thomas Austin and his rabbits
  • The Opening of Japan
  • Wagner and ‘Mad’ King Ludwif
  • The Battle of Jutland
  • The Wall Street Crash

New members as well as current and past class members are welcome.
